Dr. Al-Kassabi further serves or has served as a Board Member of the Savola Group, the Almarai Company, the Saudi Cable Company, the General Ports Authority, Jeddah Holding Company, Al-Furousiya at Holy Makkah Area, the High Commission for the Development of the Hail Region, and the Saudi Council of Engineers.
Dr. Al-Kassabi has also previously served as Secretary General of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1998 to 2002 as well as President of the Jeddah Festival Committee from 1999 to 2000.
From 1990 to 1997, Dr. Al-Kassabi was Director General of the Kara Construction Company. Previous to that, Dr. Al-Kassabi was an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at the College of Engineering of King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.
Dr. Al-Kassabi holds a B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from Portland University, two M.Sc. Degrees in Civil Engineering from Berkley University and the University of Missouri respectively, and a D.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri, each Degree awarded with distinction. In 1984, Dr. Al-Kassabi was selected by the Wall Street Journal as one of the outstanding foreign students then undertaking study in the United States.
